Royal Neighbors of America Chapter 20066

The library joined Royal Neighbors of America Philanthropy by starting a Chapter in December 2008.  The purpose of the Chapter is to help improve the community where the it is located.  Whether hosting events or holding fundraisers, our Chapter works to improve both the library and the Viola community.

Our Chapter works hard to assist with local and national needs. Since forming in 2008 the group has donated teddy bears to the New Windsor Police Department and to children at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut, donating quilts to help raise money for cancer victims and their families, and holding various informational seminars on various topics including Identity Theft and Home Winterization. The group sponsors the library's annual Children's Christmas Store; the annual "Are You Smarter Than a Librarian" Trivia Night fundraiser; holds various food drives to help the Viola Food Pantry; makes charity and raffle quilts; sponsors the library's annual Summer Reading Program; and sponsors several adult classes; collects scarves, hats, gloves and mittens for residents of Robert Young at UnityPoint; holds book sales at the library; donates raffle baskets to area groups and organizations; donates to HeadStart Project Now in Aledo; and so many other things.

Membership in our chapter is $20.00 per year. To sign up as a member, stop by the library for an application.  To volunteer for Chapter events, check at the library for dates and sign up.
